In 1952, Red Wing introduced the white, flat, cushioned Traction Tred sole to men's work and hunting boots for the first time, launching the 8-inch #877 boot. This boot was an instant success upon its release, and within a few years, various variations emerged, including the 6-inch #875 boot.
The boots feature a comfortable moccasin-style toe (Moc Toe) and a Traction Tred sole, providing ease of walking and lasting comfort. The #8138 features a reddish-brown briar oil slick variation of the #875 leather. As the name implies, this leather is rich in oil content, and the surface has a textured appearance, allowing for an enhanced appreciation of the leather's unique characteristics.
About 6-Inch Classic MocOil Slick Leather is a leather rich in oil, as the name suggests. Frequent oil application is not necessary, but if the leather surface becomes dry over time, apply a thin layer of Mink Oil or All-Natural Leather Conditioner. After applying for about 30 minutes, it is recommended to wipe off the remaining oil on the surface of the leather with a dry cloth.
